The talk, moderated by the curator of the design space Paolo Tumminelli, retraced the careers of the two designers through some of the main models they have designed during their professional experience, and explored the philosophy and approach that Giugiaro and Manzoni have applied in their creations. It is important to note, especially for the students in attendance, that both designers emphasized the fundamental role of sketching and hand drawing and the importance of physical forms, which are currently being challenged by virtual design and advances in AI, which limit the exploration of truly innovative paths.
